What Is ILF Neurofeedback?

What Is ILF Neurofeedback?

What Is ILF Neurofeedback?

Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) neurofeedback is a gentle, non-invasive technology that measures your brainwave activity in real time and feeds that information back to your brain through visual, auditory, and tactile signals. This process helps your brain identify and correct unhelpful patterns on its own, making it an effective form of anxiety therapy. There are several types of neurofeedback therapy, but our approach focuses on ILF training, which operates at the very lowest end of the brainwave spectrum — the frequencies that govern the brain's most fundamental regulatory systems. By addressing the underlying architecture of how your brain manages itself, ILF neurofeedback promotes mental health improvement and cognitive function enhancement, rather than merely targeting individual symptoms in isolation. You might recognize this as 'brain training.' The technology is designed to provide your brain feedback on its operating frequencies, and if you're experiencing issues such as mood swings, irritability, poor sleep, sugar cravings, migraines, anger outbursts, or rumination, these may indicate a dysregulated brain. It's not firing in optimized frequencies. This technology helps train the brain to regain its equilibrium, enabling you to function better and enhancing your overall mental health.

Who Is It For?

Anyone who wants to improve their experience of life can benefit from neurofeedback therapy. ILF neurofeedback is particularly well suited for individuals seeking anxiety therapy and those who: Experience chronic stress, burnout, or have an overactive mind that is difficult to quiet Struggle with sleep quality despite maintaining good sleep habits Live with anxiety, low mood, or emotional reactivity that feels disproportionate to their circumstances Are managing the cognitive demands of high-responsibility roles Want to enhance cognitive function and sharpen mental clarity and focus Are looking for a sophisticated, non-pharmaceutical approach to mental health improvement Are navigating ADHD, PTSD, or the cognitive shifts associated with menopause or aging.

How Does It Work?

What Is The Commitment?

What Is The Commitment?

Every client begins their journey with a thorough consultation to understand their history, goals, and neurological profile, which is essential for effective anxiety therapy. During this process, sensors are placed on your head using a paste in a calm and comfortable setting. The sessions typically last around 30 to 45 minutes, during which there is no discomfort, downside, or recovery time — many clients conveniently come during a lunch break or between meetings. It’s important to communicate any changes in your body during the session; otherwise, you simply relax and enjoy watching a screen displaying animations and patterns that support cognitive function enhancement.

Results can vary by individual, but meaningful mental health improvement is often observed within a course of 20-30 neurofeedback therapy sessions. Many clients choose to continue beyond their initial goals, using neurofeedback as an ongoing tool for peak performance and mental maintenance — similar to how they might utilize executive coaching, personal training, or nutritional optimisation to support their overall well-being.

While neurofeedback therapy can have immediate effects, for lasting mental health improvement, you need to schedule several appointments. Similar to going to the gym, consistency is key before you can see sustained changes in cognitive function enhancement. The standard approach involves attending sessions twice a week for the first 20 sessions. Although it is possible to meet once a week, starting with 2-3 times a week is recommended for optimal results. Intensives, such as daily sessions, are also an option, but this requires an assessment, as it may not be suitable for everyone. A single session costs £165, while packages of 10 sessions are available for £1500.

The initial sessions will focus on determining your Optimal Reward Frequency (ORF). You will be asked to track your symptoms, as this is crucial for checking progress and adjusting your ORF—essentially, it’s the only way we can communicate effectively with your brain during anxiety therapy!
